Martial Arts Instructional Accomplishments:

  - 1st Student to be awarded black belt and later master’s rank under Grandmaster Flavio Behring, 9th

  Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

  - 1st Brazilian BJJ and Submission Wrestling Abu Dhabi Coach to win Super Heavyweight division with a

  foreign fighter (Mark Robinson – South Africa) at ADCC 2001.

  - Coach of Fabricio Werdum at his MMA 1st round win over Aleksander Emilianenko in Rotterdam,

  Holland, as a 15 to 1 underdog.

  - Coach of over 12 MMA fighters competing in South Africa from 2001-2005 with 10 victories, 9 by KO

  and 1 by decision, with only 2 losses.

  - Coached Itamar Rosa to victory and UFC Africa Middleweight Title over the French Xavier Foupa-Poka,

   aka “Professor X,” who was at the time undefeated with 11 victories by KO. He is now one of Europe’s

  Cage Rage stars.

  - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor to Nate “The Great” Marquardt, 7-Time King of Pancrase and UFC

  Veteran.

  - Instructor and coach of Rosangela Conceicao, when she won the BJJ world title as a purple belt against

   brown and black belts. She was the 1st “Gaucha: (born in Rio Grande do Sul State) to win such a title. She

  is now the only medalist (bronze medal) of the Brazilian female wrestling team in the recent Pan- Am

   games in Brazil.

  - During the last decade the Union BJJ teams have won over 500 fights and hundreds of individual titles,

   plus more than 30 state team titles. Always listed in the top three of the RS state and the southern Brazil,

  though always limited in the number of competitors.
